How to Set up a VPN Connection in Windows 10

 

Here are the steps to set up a VPN in Windows 10 using L2TP/IPsec with pre-shared key:

  1. Press the Win key on your keyboard
  2. Type VPN and click VPN settings
  3. Click Add a VPN connection
  4. In the VPN provider drop-down menu, select Windows (built-in)
  5. Type in a descriptive name in the Connection name box
  6. In the Server name or address text box, type in the DNS name or the IP address of the VPN server you want to connect to, from the credentials we supply.
  7. For VPN type, select L2TP/IPsec with pre-shared key
  8. Below that, insert the pre-shared key (or shared secret) provided to you by 2020Media in the Pre-shared key text box
  9. For Type of sign-in info, select User name and password
  10. Enter your VPN credentials (user name and password) in the appropriate spaces and check the Remember my sign-in info box
  11. Click Save
  12. To connect to the VPN, go back to the VPN settings page and select your VPN connection from the list
  13. Click Connect
